Picture Post 8

Part of the Brussels cityscape

Brussels' largest cathedral, the Cathedrale St-Michel

The center of town, called the Grand Place, widely considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world

The inside of the cathedral, which is surprisingly well-lit

I don't really know what this is, but it's in a park called the Parc du Cinquantenaire, so I can assume it's the commemoration of 50 years of something

The awesome Brussels armory museum

This is a 36 cm, or 360 mm shell. The gun that fires this must be enormous

Some of the funky instruments (with me in the reflection) in the instrument museum

The town square of Bruges

Horse-drawn carriages are a popular sight, but they really slow down traffic

Typical Bruges side street

Bruges is a pretty laid-back, old-fashioned kind of town with lots of cafes with outdoor seating for people to just sit around

Several canals cut through Bruges giving it a sort of Venice-like quality

They have working windmills!

This is the altar that I found really creepy (see Bruges post)

Hello! Came across your blog and was admiring all the places you've been to so far. How I miss them! I'm currently studying abroad in England for the year, and recently finished a month of backpacking around Europe. So I know you're probably having the time of your time. :D Keep it up!
